Indian Investors jittery - IIFL

The investors have been feeling the jitters from a flurry of news in recent days. For now Finance Minister P Chidambaram says he is confident of key legislations being pushed through in Parliament even as a key ally, the DMK has withdrawn support from the UPA govt.

The global cues are fine to ensure some stability at start for our market. Asian shares are in the green. China's Shanghai index was trading a tad higher. China's manufacturing sector showed a pick up in March giving hopes of a recovery. The floor price for the offer for sale of SAIL will be announced today. The Government is expected to get Rs 1,500 crore though its stake sale in the company.

Japan's Nikkei is up 1.2% at 12,618.17 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng is 0.31% up. South Korea's Kospi is over half a percent higher. US stocks gained after the Federal Reserve said in its policy statement that it will continue buying $85 billion worth of Treasuries and mortgage-backed securities to help "make broader financial conditions more accommodative."
