Markets close lower on Thursday on lower GDP forecast - AXISDirect

Markets closed lower on Thursday after lower economic growth forecast dampened investors' sentiment amid a weak global trend.

Nifty Futures closed at 5961 losing 0.2% with 0% increase in open interest along with 65.1% increase in volumes

Nifty futures closed with 22.3 points premium as compared to 13.7 points premium in previous trading session

FII's were sellers in Index Futures to the tune of 106 crores and were buyers in index options to the tune of 729 crores, Stock Futures were bought to the tune of 17 crores

FII's were net buyers in derivatives segment to the tune of 519 crores compared to buying of 385 crores in previous trading session

Derivative segment saw 45.9% increase in turnover as compared to previous trading session.

Nifty futures witnessed decrease in price with no change in open interest and increase in volumes indicating dilemma among market participation. Markets are expected trade in rangebound with stock specific movements. Nifty may face resistance around 6000 levels while 5920 may act as good support level.
