Indian equities end flat on Thursday with negative bias - Microsec

Indian equities ended on a flat note on Thursday with negative bias. A cautious approach ahead of IIP numbers and Q3 results led to the selling pressure. Infosys will announce quarterly results tomorrow.

Nifty closed at 5968.65 down by 2.85points or 0.05% over the previous day closing of 5971.50 after witnessing a low of 6005.15 and a high of 5998.80. Sensex closed at 19663.55 down by 3.04 points or 0.02% over the previous day closing of 19666.59. It touched an intraday low of 19596.38 and high of 19783.75.

The markets' breadth was negative. Out of 3104 stocks traded, 1183 stocks advanced, 1797 stocks declined and 124 stocks remained unchanged. In Sensex, Out of 30 stocks 07 stocks advanced and 23 stocks declined.

Among the sectors, BSE Power, BSE Healthcare and BSE Metal were the main losers of the day, which decreased by 0.93%, 0.70% and 0.63% respectively.

In BSE Power sector Torrent Power, Crompton Greaves and JSW Energy decreased by 2.30%, 2.49% and 1.64% respectively. In BSE Healthcare Cadilla HC, Aurobindo Pharma and Glenmark Pharma declined by 3.26%, 2.81% and 2.03% respectively. In BSE Metal sector SAIL, Hindustan Zinc and Sesa Goa decreased by 1.88%, 1.80% and 1.72% respectively.
