IndiGo expands its Middle East footprint with new Bengaluru-Riyadh direct flights, starting 16 November 2025 
              Indian Railways and ICICI Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) here today for extending the sale of e-tickets through merchant establishments located across 125 cities all over the country. The MOU was signed by Smt. Rajani Hasija, Group General Manager (IT), Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Shri Sachin Khandelwal, General Manager, ICICI Bank in the presence of Union Minister for Railways, Shri Lalu Prasad, Ministers of State for Railways, Shri Naranbhai J. Rathwa & Shri R. Velu, Chairman, Railway Board, Shri J. P. Batra & other Railway Board members, MD, IRCTC Dr. P. K. Goel, and MD & CEO, ICICI Bank, Shri K.V. Kamath.
Speaking on the occasion, the Railway Minister Shri Lalu Prasad said that Indian Railway’s policy is to provide maximum facilities to the passengers at their door steps so is to make their journey by Railways comfortable. Describing MOU signed with ICICI Bank as an important step in the direction of making Railway tickets easily available to the people, the Railway Minster said this is a pilot project and more such facilities will be developed in future.
The web-enabled services through e-points of sale (e-POS) machines located at merchant establishments/shopping malls in over 125 cities all over the country will enable dispensation of reserved tickets to the common man, apart from the existing services of e-ticketing and i-ticketing. The tickets can be purchased through credit cards/ debit cards/cash on payment of service charges/surcharge as per Visa/Master Card rules. The association of Indian Railways with the ICICI Bank will facilitate spreading the network of reservation counters right into the hinterlands of our country, providing tremendous convenience to passengers for reservation/cancellation. These swiping machines (e-POS) available in high concentration areas can be utilized by the public for purchase of reserved tickets as well as his shopping needs. The facility will also ease the chaos at the ticket counters across the railway stations, besides saving valuable time and energy of the rail users.
