Telecom: GSM operators add 3.515 million subscribers in January 2006

GSM operators add 3.515 million subscribers additions in January 2006. The total cellular subscriber base for GSM operators crossed 62 million. BSNL added 1.074 million subscribers during the month which is its highest additions in history.
Bharti Tele added 1.046 million subscribers during the month surpassing the 1 million mark for the first time. The momentum in subscriber additions is expected to continue with the launch of the Lifetime validity coupon.
