India's Swine Flu Death Toll at 880

The death toll due to Influenza A H1N1 in India has increased to 880. Maharashtra is the state with highest number of deaths due to swine flu followed by Rajasthan and Karnataka.

Two deaths (Maharashtra-1 and Assam-1) were reported during the day.

On 26th December 2009, 18710 passengers have been screened at 12 Airports with 41 counters manned by 101 doctors and 71 paramedics. Total passengers screened till date is 10091086.

Till date, samples from 109498 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in Government Laboratories and a few private Laboratories across the country and 25236 (23.0%) of them have been found positive.

Out of the 124 cases reported during the day two are having history of foreign travel and rest are indigenous cases.
