Cinepolis opens first modern multiplex in Celebrations Mall at Amritsar

Cinepolis India, India's first international film exhibitor, today announced the opening of its four screen multiplex at Advance India Project Ltd. (AIPL's) 'Celebration Mall' on Batala Road in Amritsar. The Cinepolis movie complex would be the first multiplex theater of the city and would offer a world class movie viewing experience to the people of Amritsar. The cinemas would feature state of the art technology including the first fully digital and Digital 3-D enabled auditoriums in the state of Panjab.

Cinepolis would be launching its first cinema in India with 'Avatar' - an upcoming science fiction epic movie directed by James Cameron, the director of Titanic. The film features amazing and first of its kind 3-D special effects which can be seen in Cinepolis theaters in Amritsar -the only such theaters equipped to show 3-D content in Panjab.

The all digital screening format will enable crystal clear picture and sound quality. Cinepolis plans to open 500 screens by 2016. It has already till date signed 160 screens in 10 cities with more than 10 developers. The company plans to open at least 40 screens in 2010 across the country.
