45 lakh central government employees benefit on Sixth Pay Commission

The Recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission approved by the Government has benefited over 45 lakh Central Government Employees including Defence forces and Para-Military forces and over 30 lakh Pensioners.

This was stated by the Finance Minister, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, while presenting the Interim Budget- 2009-2010 in the Lok Sabha today.

He expressed the hope that this will not only improve the quality of administration but also help the economy by supporting the demand.
