In a significant expansion of its national footprint, City Union Bank (CUB) has officially crossed the 1000-branch mark. The bank announced the simultaneous opening of thirteen new branches on Monday, April 27, 2026, reaching this historic four-digit milestone in its operational history.
Strategic Nationwide Expansion
The new branch openings span across several key Indian states, including Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Delhi. This expansion aligns with the bank's strategy to increase its presence in both high-traffic urban centers and strategic rural/semi-urban pockets.
The thirteen newly inaugurated branches are located at:
Telangana: Abids (Hyderabad)
Tamil Nadu: Vallampadugai (Cuddalore), Velampayam (Tiruppur), and Ammachathiram (Thanjavur)
Karnataka: Dharwad, Hubli (Gokul Road), Bengaluru (Hosa Road), and a Digital Banking Unit (DBU) at Sri Sairam College of Engineering (Anekal).
Maharashtra: Pune (Hadapsar)
New Delhi: Chittaranjan Park, Chawri Bazar, Naya Bazar, and Vasant Kunj.
Milestone Achievement
With these additions, City Union Bank's total network now stands at exactly 1,000 branches. The milestone was reached with the inauguration of the Ammachathiram branch in Thanjavur District, which carries the official Branch No. 1000 and CBS Code 01005.
The move significantly strengthens the bank's presence in the National Capital Region (NCR), with four new branches opening in Delhi alone, while continuing to fortify its traditional strongholds in South India.
