Ashok Leyland Ltd, one of India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, recorded strong sales growth in December 2025 across both domestic and export markets, driven by robust demand for medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) as well as light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
Domestic sales - December 2025
For the month of December 2025, Ashok Leyland's domestic volumes rose 26% year-on-year:
M&HCV Trucks: 11,387 units, up 27% from 8,979 units in December 2024.
M&HCV Buses: 2,166 units, up 44% from 1,509 units.
Total M&HCV (Trucks + Buses): 13,553 units, up 29% from 10,488 units.
LCV: 6,302 units, up 21% from 5,225 units.
Total domestic vehicle sales for December 2025 stood at 19,855 units compared with 15,713 units in December 2024, an increase of 26%.
On a cumulative basis (April-December 2025-26), domestic sales also registered healthy growth:
Total M&HCV: 85,698 units versus 78,737 units, up 9%.
LCV: 52,521 units versus 47,389 units, up 11%.
Total domestic vehicles: 1,38,219 units versus 1,26,126 units, up 10%.
Domestic + exports - December 2025
Including exports, performance was even stronger:
For December 2025 (domestic + exports):
M&HCV Trucks: 11,596 units, up 26% from 9,238 units in December 2024.
M&HCV Buses: 3,234 units, up 45% from 2,236 units.
Total M&HCV: 14,830 units, up 29% from 11,474 units.
LCV: 6,703 units, up 22% from 5,483 units.
Total vehicles (domestic + exports) for the month were 21,533 units, compared to 16,957 units in December 2024, registering 27% growth.
For the cumulative period (April-December 2025-26):
Total M&HCV: 96,165 units versus 86,123 units, up 12%.
LCV: 54,814 units versus 49,798 units, up 10%.
Total vehicles (domestic + exports): 1,50,979 units versus 1,35,921 units, up 11%.
The broad-based growth in both truck and bus segments, along with steady expansion in LCVs, highlights improved freight movement, rising passenger mobility, and Ashok Leyland's strong position in the commercial vehicle market.
