Jhandewalas Foods Limited has been awarded a tender for supply of Saffron to the Shrinathji Temple, Nathdwara (Rajasthan).
Shrinathji is a form of Lord Krishna, manifest as a seven-year-old child (Balakrishna) lifting the Govardhan Hill on his little finger to protect the people of Vrindavan from torrential rains caused by Lord Indra.
Shrinathji Temple at Nathdwara holds immense cultural, spiritual and historical significance in India and is one of the most prominent places of worship for devotees of Lord Krishna. The Temple is globally renowned for its devotion, traditions, and rituals, where Saffron is considered sacred and is extensively used in the Shringar (adorning rituals) of Shrinathji, 4 to 5 times a day.
Cultural & Spiritual Importance:
- Nathdwara Temple is famous for its daily "Seva" and "Shringar" rituals performed in 8 different sessions (known as Ashtayam Seva).
- Shrinathji is treated like a living child - bathed, dressed, adorned with jewels, flowers, and saffron multiple times in a day.
- saffron plays a vital role in these rituals, as it is used for adorning (Shringar) and is considered auspicious for purity, devotion, and divine fragrance.
- The temple is also a center for Pichwai paintings, music, and other forms of devotional art.
Why This Tender Matter for the Company:
- Supplying saffron to Shrinathji Mandir, Nathdwara is not just a business achievement but also an honor, as only a few selected products are accepted for temple rituals.
- Since saffron is used 4-5 times daily in Shringar of Shrinathji, the tender represents both religious importance and high trust in product purity and quality.
- The association enhances the Company's credibility and brand value, linking it with centuries-old tradition and one of India's most revered temples.
This development is significant for the Company and we are delighted to share this information with our esteemed stakeholders.
