The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi has passed an order dated 20.09.2021 toward writ petition bearing no. 10604/2021 in the favour of EaseMyTrip regarding an issue related to unsolicited messages.
The Hon'ble High Court of Delhi has not only urged UOI (Union of India) to revisit the policies surrounding the prevention of the spread of misinformation but also directed social media platforms like WhatsApp, Twitter and Telegram to take down and block all offending material from their respective platforms.
It all started when some unidentified people tried to harm the company by sending unverified buy and sell messages via Telegram and WhatsApp groups. This event was clearly out of EaseMyTrip's control, as there are thousands ofsuch groups (on Telegram and WhatsApp), where their users/admins share trading advice on various stocks daily. The company has already filed a police complaint against such perpetrators or entities.
EaseMyTrip is completely unaware of the circulation of the unsolicited messages and the reason/source of the said circulation, nor does the company has any role in the unethical behaviour of circulation of such messages by perpetrators or entities.
Further, we advise all the investors not to rely on such unsolicited messages circulated by unregistered/unauthorized persons or entities and exercise appropriate due diligence before trading in shares of the company. The company has also been making all requisite disclosures from time to time and the same is uploaded on the website of the Stock Exchange and are also made available on the website of the company.
Apart from the writ petition, in the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi, dated 20th September 2021, the company has also raised official complaints as below against perpetrators /entities for sending unauthorized and illegal messages.
