Karur Vysya Bank today donated a sum of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees ten lakhs only) to the District Collector, Karur from its CSR funds. The donation was received by Thiru Ma. Subramanian, Hon'ble Minister for Medical and Family Welfare and Thiru V. Senthilbalaji, Hon'ble Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise at a function today. The Karur District Collector, Dr. Prabhushankar, IAS was also present.
The Bank responded to a request from the District authorities to implement the initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu to enable free vaccination of eligible persons in private hospitals by making use of the CSR donations of Corporates.
KVB donated Rs. 3.12 cr. during the last financial year 2020-21 towards COVID-19 care. During the current financial year donations made so far towards COVID-19 care is Rs. 3.00 cr.
