On Wednesday Indian equity benchmarks made a positive start but failed to hold gains. The market is trading lower with the marginal cut on account of selling in PSU, Metal and Healthcare stocks. In the afternoon session, Indian equity benchmarks trade slightly in red, as market participants were seen squaring off positions ahead of the December series F&O expiry. Both Sensex and Nifty are trading around 47,753 and 13,988 levels.
Most of the Asian equity benchmarks are trading higher in early deals on Wednesday, as the market sentiments got boosted with the start of COVID-19 vaccination drives in several countries raising hopes of global economic recovery from the damage caused by the pandemics.
