3i Infotech selected by Haryana Government for eGovernance Project

3i Infotech, a global provider of IT solutions and one of the leading eGovernance consultancy service players, on October 01, 2007 announced that it has been selected by the Haryana State Government for the establishment of e-Disha Ekal Seva Kendra Project. In order to roll out the project, 3i Infotech will collaborate with Haryarna State Electronics Development Corporation (HARTRON), the state's nodal agency.

As a part of the project, 3i Infotech will set up over 322 Citizen Service Centers (eDisha Ekal Seva Kendras) in the Gurgaon division comprising Gurgaon, Faridabad, Rewari, Mahendergarh and Mewat districts. The centers will serve as a single window service delivery channel for Government Services and will greatly benefit the citizens of Haryana.

Additionally, the e-Disha Ekal Seva Kendras will be operated by Village Level Entrepreneurs, who will be selected by 3i Infotech from among the residents of Gurgaon district. Based on a franchisee business model, the aim of the project is also to encourage employment in the state. The entrepreneurs will be selected at village, town, and district levels, basis participation from citizens. 3i Infotech will support them in establishing the centers by providing the infrastructure while the operators will become responsible for providing the various services.

Commenting on the project, Mr. Anirudh Prabhakaran, Chief Operating Officer, South Asia, 3i Infotech, said, "Haryana has emerged as one of the most proliferating states in terms of investments, infrastructure and environment. The e-Disha project is a significant indicator of this and highlights the state’s commitment to its citizens and their welfare. A wide range of G2C services will be made available through the Seva Kendras including Issue of land record certificates, Registration, Issue of Certificates, Government Schemes, Employment of Exchange Services, Issuance of Ration Cards, Electoral Services, Pension Schemes, Road Transport, Public Grievance and Payment of Utility, Telephone, Electricity Bills.

Besides the key government services, the CSCs will also offer Value Added Customer Services in various verticals namely, Agricultural Services, Financial Services, Commercial Services, e-Commerce / Online Services and Educational Services.
