Fire at Alok Industries Texturising Unit in Silvassa

Alok Industries Ltd has announced that a fire took place at the Company’s texturising unit at Silvassa at around 4.30 p.m. on August 16, 2007. The fire brigade authorities along with the Company’s officials at Silvassa are trying to bring the fire under control. The extent of damage is yet to be assessed and would be ascertained once the fire is brought under control. There is no casualty caused to any employee on account of fire.

Further the Company has informed that it may be noted that the Company’s plants are adequately insured against fire, including loss of profit policy.

The stock closed the day at Rs.59.15, down by Rs.1.80 or 2.95%. The stock hit an intraday high of Rs.60.20 and low of Rs.56.25. The total traded quantity was 1145632 compared to 2 week average of 254534.
