Industrybuying witness huge spike for Godrej 'Freedom' 6 Levers Padlock amidst the Freedom 251 Frenzy

Industrybuying, a B2B platform for industrial supplies, experienced huge traffic on their website for Godrej 'Freedom' 6 Levers Padlock ever since the newly launched smartphone Freedom 251 went on sale online. Consumers went ballistic booking the 'Freedom 251', since its launch on 17th February 2016. This lead to sudden surge in online search for Freedom 251 in Google-search trends and a sponsored advertisement for Godrej 'Freedom' 6 Levers Padlock led the surprisingly unaware customers to accidental purchase of Godrej Freedom Lock instead of the Freedom 251 smartphone.

The Freedom 251 smartphone, priced at a mere Rs. 251, saw a huge interest in its pre-booking during the three-day period between February 18 and February 21. Industrybuying, an e-commerce website for industrial supplies, experienced the frenzied enthusiasm in the smartphone-buyers first hand. A sponsored advertisement of the Godrej 'Freedom' 6 Levers Padlock leading to the product page on Industrybuying's portal saw huge traction during the same period.

Commenting on the situation, Ms. Swati Gupta, Co-founder and CEO at Industrbuying, said: "We do understand that due to the limited promotion, customers are eager to get the product as soon as possible and considering it's the cheapest smartphone to be launch in India, consumers went on a booking spree without paying much attention to the details while placing the order. Thanks to Industrybuying's easy refund policy, the mistaken buyers have been returned their dues well in time. The B2B e-commerce company regrets any inconvenience caused to the potential Freedom-251 buyers and has since stopped promotion for Godrej Padlocks till the time this frenzy subsides."
