              Tesco Bengaluru, the only retail operations and technology centre for Tesco worldwide, won the 'Best Practice in Data Analysis Strategy' Award at the 2016 Big Data & Analytics Summit held at Mumbai on February 3, 2016.
The Awards identify and honour companies that have demonstrated excellence and best practices in Big Data technology. Tesco was selected by a core committee comprising distinguished industry experts on the basis of their application of analytics in Energy Consumption Reduction, Spend Optimisation and Effective Space Management that enabled the organisation achieve a 40.9% reduction in Carbon Dioxide emissions in stores and distribution centres across the Group against a 2006/07 baseline. By 2020, Tesco hopes to reduce emissions by 50% across the Group.[i]
