Tayo Rolls approves expansion project at Rs.142.50 Crores

Tayo Rolls Ltd has announced that the Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on August 08, 2007, has approved the Engineering Forging and Forged Roll Project at a total outlay of Rs 142.50 crores.

The Project envisages putting up integrated facilities for manufacture of Forging Quality Ingots (including Round Ingots), Forged Bars, Engineering Forgings and Forged Rolls. Together with the capital expenditure for expansion of Cast Roll capacity from the present 13,500 tpa to 15,000 tpa., the total capital investment would be Rs 166.11 crores to be made in phases between 2007-08 and 2010-11.

The Board also approved the tie-up with Sheffield Forgemasters, U.K., a leading Engineering Forgings and Forged Roll manufacturer of International repute for Transfer of Technology for manufacture of Forging Quality Ingots (including Round Ingots), Forged Bars, Engineering Forgings and Forged Rolls.

The Engineering Forgings and Forged Rolls Project, apart from augmentation of the existing Melt Shop and Machine Shop, entails setting up a Forge Shop with Two Column Pull Down Oil Hydraulic Forging Press of 2500/3000 tonnes and Induction Hardening facilities for Forged Rolls.

The existing facilities of Mini Blast Furnace and Arc Furnace would be optimally utilised for high value Forging Quality Ingots for Forging Industry.

The capacity for Forged Rolls would be 3000 tpa., the excess forging capacity would be used to manufacture Engineering Forgings for infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Windmill and Power Industries. This would enable TAYO to become a 'One Stop Shop' for all types of Rolls both Forged and Cast Rolls.

The Company would be selling Forging Quality Ingots (including Round Ingots) to Forging Industry.
