HCL Technologies Ltd on July 30, 2007, has announced the U.S. release of its RIM BlackBook, providing in-depth analysis and insight on the evolution and opportunities in the untapped world of RIM.
RIM is an estimated $ 55 billion market opportunity and what India's National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) predicts will be the "third wave of outsourcing" after software and BPO. The Company's new BlackBook, titled "Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) Industry; Demystifying the Third Wave of Outsourcing," is the first resource available that adequately explains the key drivers that will bring about tremendous changes and opportunities in what Gartner has identified as a "mega trend" in outsourcing.
"While there is remarkable promise and growth in the Remote Infrastructure Management industry, there is also a great deal of mystery and uncertainty on what comprises RIM and how it will impact U.S. companies," explained R Srikrishna, Sr. VP, North America, the Company's Infrastructure Services Division. "As a pioneer and leader in this space, our goal with this book is to address the knowledge gaps that exist around this trend by offering a short and concise primer on the various facets of this industry."
The book delves into topics such as the definition of RIM, its evolution over the past two decades, the current market scenario, the key drivers for future growth, sourcing trends, and RIM's benefits. This U.S.-specific version of the BlackBook follows on the heels of the release of the Indian version in February 2007.
