Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) achieves best ever Q-1 Sales

The Public Sector, Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), has achieved the best ever First Quarter (Q-1) Sales Turnover of Rs. 2026 crore during the period April - June’07. This is 14% rise over the same period last year (Rs. 1774 crores).

The Company sold 6.34 lakh tonnes of steel in the domestic market registering a growth of 7% over the same period last year. RINL’s focus towards value added steel has resulted in the sale of 2.94 lakh tonnes of value added steel in the Ist quarter, a whopping 43% rise over the same period last year.

Another significant feature of marketing performance was sale of 1,45,767 tonnes for Projects segment which recorded a growth of 16% over the same period last year.

The sale of 5571 MT to District Level Dealers serving the rural market is also the highest for any quarter, since inception.

On the production front, the Value added production of 3, 51,893 tonnes during Q-1 of 2007-08 is the best for any quarter, since inception. Similarly, production of 2,17,810 tonnes of bars is the best Q-1 production, since inception.
