IIHMR University, in cooperation with the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA offers a degree in Master of Public Health (MPH) for the first time ever in India. Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) University, in cooperation with the John's Hopkins Bloomberg School, Baltimore, USA also commenced its second batch of the Master of Public Health Program on 27th October, 2014.
Marking 31 years of contribution and excellence in Public Health and Management, IIHMR University has created its niche in providing high quality research, education and training in the areas of Health Management.
The students in the second cohort of MPH program would travel to John's Hopkins University Campus at Baltimore, USA for a period of 2 weeks training in the beginning 1st January, 2015. The three-fourth of terms will be taught in India, and one term (Intensive Institute) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA. Out of total 80 credits, 30 credits are taught by JHU faculty and the remaining 50 credits are taught by IIHMR faculty. The collaboration between the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) and IIHMR will enable the students to benefit from Johns Hopkins' track record of excellence in teaching public health and IIHMR's expertise in health management.
The Master of Public Health degree program is designed to focus on public health capacity building in developing countries, Cultivate students' health management skills so that they will be prepared to enhance the effectiveness & efficiency of public health programs & services and prepare professionals for challenging careers in public health management in the public & private sectors, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) & national and multinational organizations. The pedagogy in each course is selected judiciously, with an emphasis on involving the students in learning and helping them to relate concepts and theories to authentic public health management.
The student selection process is globally acclaimed following stringent international standards. The application process is a two step process. As a first step, the candidates have to complete a preliminary screening at IIHMR (mph@iihmr.org). Second step includes submission of application online on the Johns Hopkins web portal. The final applicant should submit; official transcripts from their university and send it for credentialing at U.S credentialing agencies, Three Letters of Recommendation and Personal Statement. The tuition fee of the entire course is $ 22000. The student also gets an opportunity to receive travel and boarding scholarship for the course in Baltimore campus after getting admitted to the course.
The MPH degree will be awarded by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and will have same and equal credentials as that in the USA.

This MPH Program is highly subsidized for the students from low and middle income countries of WHO SEARO with a tuition fee of US $22,000 only. The fee also includes travel to USA and lodge during their stay at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH), Baltimore, USA.
Eligibility:
- Bachelor's degree with a background in Mathematics and Biology
- Valid GRE, MCAT, GMAT, or LSAT score. (Scores are waived off for applicants who possess a degree beyond the baccalaureate level or M.B.B.S, provided they have the requisite quantitative skills)
- A minimum of two years of full-time health-related work experience is desirable for candidates who do not have a medical degree
