              BSE Sensex closed lower at 10200.76, down by 43.29 points. Sensex hit an intraday high of 10271.67 and low of 10177.12. Out of 30 stocks in NIFTY, 18 closed lower and 12 closed higher.
Banks were buzzing in the markets with SBI, top gainer on Sensex. SBI closed higher by 2.77% at Rs.876.45. ICICI Bank was the other major bank that closed higher by 1.19% at Rs.593.
L&T was the second major gainer in Sensex with the stock closing at Rs.2344.4, up by 2.09%. Other major gainers include, Gujarat Ambuja cement (Rs.86.1, up by 1.59%), Tata Power (Rs.517.5, up by 1.21%).
NTPC, Tata Steel, Grasim Industries, BHEL, Reliance Industries, ACC and Reliance Energy closed higher by less than 1%.
Dr Reddys Laboratories was the major loser in Sensex with the stock closing down by 4.06% at Rs.1307.5. Hindustan Lever closed at Rs.242.15, down by 2.52% and Hero Honda closed lower by 2.09% at Rs.889.15.
Other major losers in Sensex include ONGC (Rs.1176.6, down by 1.67%), Satyam Computers (Rs.768.4, down by 1.63%), Bajaj Auto (Rs.2583.75, down by 1.48%), ITC (Rs.163.4, down by 1.48%), Ranbaxy Laboratories (Rs.444.35, down by 1.46%), Infosys Technologies (Rs.2756.4, down by 1.43%), HDFC Bank (Rs.711.5, down by 1.34%), CIPLA (Rs.552, down by 1.15%), WIPRO (Rs.516.35, down by 0.94%), Bharti Tele (Rs.362.85, down by 1.24%).
