              UL DQS India, the Indian subsidiary of DQS Holdings GmBH and the provider of management systems certification to various industries, brings together eminent personalities from the automobile industry across India under one roof for the 'Auto Sustain' CEO forum at Leela Palace on 29 November, 2012. The forum will serve as a platform for key decision makers from the industry and technical experts to interact and share their views on sustainability in automobiles.
UL DQS India in association with DEG (One of Europe's largest financial institution) and ASSIST (a non-profit international capacity building organization) is initiating a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project - 'Auto Sustain', which aims to sensitize the automotive industry on sustainable and socially responsible practices. The major objective of this project is to help the automotive sector to adopt international best practices to improve and sustain their environmental performance in the long run.
UL DQS has completed few PPP Projects funded by DEG and supported by ASSIST; one of them being-Secure Gujarat, which aimed at promoting awareness on the need and advantages of implementing responsible production, practices among SMEs that processes and handles transport chemicals in the state. Globally, UL DQS has conducted events on sustainability in Sri Lanka & Morocco.
The CEO forum in Bangalore will witness renowned speakers and panel discussions on various contemporary topics on green initiatives in automobiles.
On the occasion, Dr. K Murugan, Managing Director & CEO, UL DQS India said: "We are glad to organize this event which will see participation of experts across the country. The automobile companies, their vendors and suppliers should enable themselves to align with environment, health and safety and other sustainability measures management systems to develop, while using the resources efficiently and reducing pollution and wastage in production.
