              Pakistan Tourism Minister, Ms. Nilofar Bakhtiar today paid a courtesy visit to Tourism and Culture Minister Smt. Ambika Soni . Ms. Bakhtiar is currently in New Delhi to participate in the South Asian Tourism and Travel Expo (SATTE) . During their 40 minutes meeting both the leaders discussed tourism related matters. The visiting dignitary complimented Smt. Ambika Soni on the Incredible India campaign and lauded successful participation of India at recently concluded ITB-Berlin. Smt. Soni welcomed the initiatives of Pakistan in promoting tourism specially steps taken by them to grant visa on arrival to the nationals of 24 countries.
The Pakistan Minister was greatly appreciative of the India’s initiative with regard to the ‘Bed and Breakfast’ scheme which will not only supplement the room numbers but will also provide experimental tourism to both domestic as well as foreign tourists. She enquired in details about the guidelines of the scheme and stated that she would explore the possibilities of launching the similar initiative in her own country.
Smt. Soni stated that the Composite Dialogue between the two countries would go a long way in boosting the ties and people to people contact between India and Pakistan. Both the leaders felt that there is a tremendous tourism potential in both the countries which should be tapped.
