Reaction on Budget - Mr. Krishan Mehta, Managing Director, Energetic Lighting India Pvt Ltd.

The government has proposed a big boost for the CFL and LED industry.

Commenting on the budget, Mr. Krishan Mehta, Managing Director, Energetic Lighting India Pvt Ltd said, "We welcome the Government's move on encouraging the consumption of energy-saving devices by exempting the CFL coating chemical, Tri-band phosphor powder, from the customs duty and by reducing the excise duty on LED lamps to 6 percent."

"The Government's target to get the fiscal deficit to 5.1 percent of GDP looks achievable." He further added.

Energetic Lighting India Pvt Ltd is a multinational company engaged in design and manufacture of energy saving lamps.
