Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) has opened an Executive Lounge at the first platform of Madurai Railway Station in Tamil Nadu. The lounge has been designed aesthetically and provides a cost effective option for passengers who use retiring rooms at the stations.
The executive lounge has a separate reception area and different options like recliner room, business center, cloak room and dining area based on your need. The lounge can be used by paying Rs. 60. The cost includes facilities like free water bottle, comfortable seats, newspapers and magazines, free WiFi, shoe shiner machine and access to a clean restroom.
Passengers on one day trip can pay Rs. 150 and use the lounge for shower and change. The facilities provided are dental kit, shaving kit, soap, shampoo and comb.
The lounge provides facility to store your luggage at its cloak room priced at Rs. 50 for 2 hours.
There is also an air-conditioned recliner room which has recliners and private TV. This facility can be used by paying Rs. 100 per hour.
The lounge also has a business center which provides facilities like computer, printer, scan etc. There is a travel desk which helps needy passengers in planning and organizing local sightseeing.
The dining area at the lounge provides an exhaustive menu to satisfy the taste buds of passengers. The lunch and dinner buffet costs Rs. 250 and breakfast buffet is priced at Rs. 100.
The lounge will be launched at other major railway stations soon.
