Tata Power, India's largest integrated private power utility took center stage at the recently held Chapter Convention on Quality Circle (CCQC) 2018 Award by bagging three GOLD awards for excellent problem-solving capabilities and contribution of teams towards quality initiatives at Jojobera thermal power station. Three Quality Circle teams 1) Team Challenger 2) Team Pragati 3) Team Avenger (O&M) were bestowed with the most prestigious GOLD award under the 'Lean QC' category.
The 2018 CCQC Award was held at Durgapur, West Bengal and witnessed the participation of around 80 teams from different industries including Tata Steel, Tata Power, Durgapur steel plant, Durgapur Cement Works, JCAPCPL, DVC Mejhia, IISCO steel plant, Jindal Steel & Power, Sonar Bangla Cement, MCPI PVT LTD Haldia, Supreme Industries, Tata Global NONOI, Tata Tea DAMDIN, Central Coalfields Ltd. etc.
Quality Circle is a small group activity of grass root employees guided by a Management representative termed as Facilitator/Coordinator, solving their work related problems by using quality tools. Nowadays they are also solving problems given by Management under a new concept called Lean QC.
