The cement despatches of Jaiprakash Associates Limited was at 1,025,697 MT in November 2009 as compared to 689470 MT in November 2008. The despatches showed 49% Change Y-o-Y and Crossed the 1 million tonne mark in a month for the first time.
The cement despatches for period (April to November) 2009-10 was at 6.74 Million MT and the cement despatches was at 5.08 Million MT for period (April to November) 2008-09. The cement despatches showed 33% Change Y-o-Y.
In cements business with new cement plants in fast growing markets of the North, Central, Eastern & Western Zones, JAL is the 3rd largest cement group in India with dominance as low cost producer of cement. The company is in final stage of capacity expansions in cements business and expects to have combined cement capacity of 22.80 MTPA by the end of the current fiscal with 252 MW captive power plants.
